About PNW Expeditions
New World Diving “NWD” has been owned and operated by Mark Palay for over 25 years. In 2024, the torch has been passed to Victor who changed its name to PNW Expeditions “PNX” to broaden the scope of activities. NWD supported and participated in many Howe Sound conservation projects throughout the years along with great initiatives like “Marine Life Sanctuary Society”, “Artificial Reef Society of B.C.”, “Glass Sponge Research Initiative” and more. NWD was very involved in the sinking project of the former HMCS Annapolis from the early 2000’s till 2015 and continues to survey and maintain the mooring lines and buoys of different dive sites. PNX is committed to providing the community with the best service while maintaining this environment protected and clean.
Victor
I am an Emergency First Response Instructor, PADI Diving instructor, Technical Diver, Freediver, Boat Captain. I’ve been diving for over a decade all over the world. Since moving to Vancouver, I’ve fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest and its rugged beauty. I’ve been working as an instructor and guide, exploring the diverse and vast marine life that this area has to offer. I am grateful to work and play in this piece of heaven called Howe Sound, and my goal is to conserve it through education and by showcasing its beauty to everyone both on, and under the water along with my partner Daniela.
Mark
Mark has been a PADI diving professional for 30 years. He has taught thousands of divers all over B.C.. He operated dive charters in Howe Sound since the early 90’s and knows these waters like the back of his hand. He still inspires those around him with his endless energy and love for the water. He will always hold an important place in the diving world of Howe sound.
Daniela
Daniela, Victor’s wife and business partner, has been diving since 2012 recreationally. She studied archeology and has worked in UNESCO Biosphere reserves. She has found her roots here in the Pacific Northwest. Her work has always involved nature conservation. Daniela and Victor will continue to ensure the healthy future of this amazing area while also sharing this purpose with their young children.
Pathfinder
Pathfinder is a custom 30ft aluminum boat, Transport Canada approved built for divers. It is safe and reliable, equipped with 2 outboards, 2 diving ladders, comfortable benches, and a marine toilet. It is covered so it provides ideal protection from the elements.
